I am planning on booking a massage for my husband at the Contemporary Hotel right before our dinner at Chef Mickeys. Is there anything fairly inexpensive that my 4 year old daughter and I can do at the resort to kill time while hubby has his masage?

    Hi Carrie,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your questions. It is so nice of you to book a massage for your husband at Disney's Contemporary Resort!

Disney's Contemporary Resort is amazing and has a lot to do. I am sure that you and your 4-year-old daughter will be able to find inexpensive activities for an hour or so while your husband has his massage. One no-cost option would be to ride the monorail. I am not sure if you are going to be otherwise using the monorail during your stay, but when my daughter was preschool-aged she would ask over and over to ride the monorail. Since the monorail stops inside of Disney's Contemporary Resort, this is really special. You could ride the loop around to other resorts, or even get off and transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center to take a ride above Epcot by taking the monorail to Epcot and back. Another idea for no cost which would keep you at Disney's Contemporary Resort would be to take a stroll to the beach on Bay Lake behind Disney's Contemporary Resort. Although you cannot swim in the water at the beach, your daughter might enjoy playing in the sand outside.

Another idea is to visit The Game Station arcade, located on the fourth floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Of course, you will need to spend some money here, but you could give your daughter a limit and when that money is gone, she is done. My daughter and husband love to play here. There are even games where you can earn tickets to trade in for a prize, which your daughter might like. Also, there are many stores which have wonderful merchandise at Disney's Contemporary Resort. I am not sure how your daughter does as a window shopper, but if she does well, it would be worth wandering through those for a while to see what unique merchandise is offered.

I hope this gives you a few ideas, Carrie. Please do come back and ask as more questions arrive in planning your magical vacation!
