Planning a birthday trip to Disneyland with a group of 12. What would be the best way to make dining reservations for a large group? Are there any other enhancement options available for celebrating?

Welcome to planDisney, Demi! Thanks so much for sending us your question. I'm happy to see you have a vacation planned to Disneyland Resort!

Celebrating a birthday at The Happiest Place on Earth always makes it more magical! There are many ways you can celebrate and making an advanced dining reservation is a great start. You can make advanced dining reservations up to 60 days before your arrival date. Because you have a large group, I would recommend enlisting the help of another friend in your travel party to help. You will likely have better success searching for two reservations with parties of six each. It will be important to have a My Disneyland account before the day you are going to make reservations. This will help ensure you are ready to secure your desired dining location. In order to have to best chance at getting the reservation you are wishing for, you will want to be prepared to be online by 6:00 a.m. PST. If each of you is able to book a reservation for the same time or within 15 minutes of each other, that would be best. When you arrive at the restaurant, you can request to have both parties of six seated together. While there is no guarantee, I have found, in my experience, that Cast Members will always do their best to accommodate your request.

There are some other ways to enhance the birthday festivities! You can pre-order a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to enjoy as part of your celebration. You can find the details including participating restaurants here. You can also get a complimentary celebration "Happy Birthday" button at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. I would also recommend having some group photos taken using Disney PhotoPass to capture the magical memories you are going to make!

Demi, I hope this information helps to plan your celebration! If you have any additional questions as you are planning, please visit us again at planDisney. We're here to help!

    Happy Planning!
