Welcome to planDisney, KJ!
I’m so excited for you to get to experience Southern California and Disneyland,
Walt Disney’s Original Magic Kingdom! There really is so much to see and do; you’ll be planning your next visit even before your first is over. I’d love to share with you some of my recommendations for places to visit in sunny Southern California.
- There are a number of beautiful beaches within a short drive from the Disneyland Resort. My family and I have enjoyed a whale and dolphin watching excursion on the ocean from Newport Beach.
- Fun and educational experiences can be found at sites like La Brea Tar Pits, Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center, and The Discovery Cube.
- Connect with Disney history by riding the Merry-Go-Round at Griffith Park, the very same carousel that inspired Walt Disney to create Disneyland. While you are at the park, you might also want to pay a visit to Walt’s Barn, where you can learn more about Walt Disney’s passion for trains and more.
- A beautiful drive or train ride down the Pacific Coast will take you to the San Diego Area. The world-famous San Diego Zoo in San Diego’s Balboa Park is simply amazing. My family has also loved dining, shopping, and enjoying historical sites in San Diego’s Old Town area, sometimes referred to as the birthplace of the State of California.
- Witness the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. You can stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, find your favorite stars’ prints in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre, and take in a show at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre.
Tony’s Tip: If you book a Disneyland Resort
Vacation Package through the Walt Disney Travel Company excursions to select
Southern California attractions can be added on to your package. Just ask your travel consultant for more information.
If you want to take your Southern California vacation to a whole new level, consider booking an
Adventures by Disney Disneyland Resort and Southern California tour. Not only does this amazing adventure grant you
VIP treatment at the Disneyland Resort, but you also gain special behind-the-magic access to
Walt Disney Studios and The Jim Henson Company Lot. You will even be able to visit Tam O’Shanter, one of Walt’s favorite eateries.
If you have any more questions about your visit to Southern California and the Disneyland Resort, we are happy to help you here at
