Hello Tracy!
Welcome to planDisney! Congrats on coming back again to "
The Most Magical Place on Earth!" I dream of continuing to visit Walt Disney World Resort with my adult children and experiencing how each year memories made are still special.
So many people have been visiting planDisney with questions about the Disability Access Service (DAS) and I hope that I can provide some help. The Disability Services team recently announced greater efforts to show the variety of services that are provided to guests with all kinds of disabilities. DAS is just
one service of many that could benefit your son. I cannot theorize if your son is still able to qualify as every guest who is interested in disability services is encouraged to have an interview with Cast Members. Everyone is evaluated individually and no blanket approval is given. Since you are an International guest the interview will have to occur once you arrive in the United States. Since you are arriving later in the year, I suggest you visit this registration page when you land on US soil. This link and conversation can only work in the United States. You can do this no more than 30 days before you arrive. Make sure you are logged into your
My Disney Experience Account and have your son with you. While I cannot guarantee that you will qualify for DAS, I can guarantee that the Cast Member who you speak with will address your issues and find solutions to make your trip easier for your son.
The Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations provided by Walt Disney World Resort is a great resource. I love that it lets you know
Rider Switch is available to all who may have difficulty experiencing a certain attraction when other guests want to enjoy it. I have used this service with my son who has anxiety with no problems and love that it lets everyone enjoy their day.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions please feel free to
let me know!
Happy Planning!
