    We are planning an August 2010 Disney trip. I was going to book it shortly but some friends have told me to wait, because they usually offer free meal plans at that time of year. Should I wait, or can I get the deal retroactive?

    Hi LouAnn,

    The free dining promotion has been offered for the last few years and it really is a great deal. Of course, there is no guarantee that Disney will be offering this deal again in 2010. Usually the announcement of what the fall promotions will be (if any) is made in early spring.

    If you book your trip now and a promotion becomes available during your dates, you will be able to modify your reservation to take advantage of the deal. You would just need to call Disney or your travel agent to make the change. There is no penalty to making changes to your reservation unless you are within 45 days of arrival.

    If I were you, I would book the trip and keep your eyes open for future promotion that may benefit you. You can also bookmark the Special Offers page on the Disney website to keep up to date on what's being offered.
