We are planning to attend MNSSHP this week, & my husband is going as Ronan from Guardians of the Galaxy ( bad guy) Is he allowed to walk in the park with his "evil staff" we made for his costume? Its 5ft tall, made of wood & Styrofoam?

Hi Shanna! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You will LOVE attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this week! This event is SO much fun and it keeps getting better every year. This year, I especially enjoyed Disney's Not So Spooky Spectacular - the brand new firework show. You don't want to miss it!

It is difficult to say whether or not the costume guidelines for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will allow a staff as part of a costume. There is a fine line between what items security believes can be used for a weapon and what is perfectly fine. The costume guidelines state, "Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus." Since the staff isn't plastic, it might be turned away.

If I were you, I would consider either leaving it at home, or when you arrive try asking a nearby Cast Member if the staff will be allowed in. Since the Cast Member will be able to see exactly what it looks like, they can probably make a better judgment call.

I hope you have the BEST time at the party, Shanna! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
