Welcome Foolish Mortal! Paul, I am delighted you will be joining the grim grinning ghosts and coming out to socialize at
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this fall.
This party is brimming over with special tricks and treats for ghouls, goblins, princesses, and Marvel superheroes too. I love the creativity everyone brings to showing their Disney side during this event.
I appreciate you having read the
dress code guidelines and wanting to make sure your costume is a fit. The guidelines say costumes may not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon. In interpreting this, I look to the statement that says
Walt Disney World Resort values safety and good judgment. The way I think about this is: Would someone else look at the prop and think it is a real weapon? With this lens, my kids have taken toy blasters as part of their Stormtrooper costumes. Their blasters were shaped like guns, but they were made of white plastic with bright orange stripes. They were toy blasters and did not look like anything but toys. This article on
Disney Bounding guidelines for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge may also be helpful, just as additional information with illustrative photos. The question I would ask about the Wolverine claws is "Do they have any sharp edges?" For your safety and that of other Guests, if they have sharp claws or edges, they would not be allowed.
I have shared my thoughts and experiences in hopes you can look at the claws and if you feel they clearly look like toys, I think you should be fine. I do caution that the Cast Members have the final say.
As you prepare for this
spelltacular party, be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog's Halloween page. It is full of shriek peeks at everything that will come to life for Halloween at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
If you have any other questions, please drive your Doom Buggy back to
planDisney. We're dying to help!
Happy Haunting!
