We are planning to attend July 22 and wondering about capacity and Fast Pass opportunities

Hello there, Sandy! Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney with your question. Are you getting so excited about your trip? It is right around the corner, I bet the countdown is on!

Sandy, since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer the FastPass+ program, has been currently suspended. We have not yet received word if or when it might return to us at Walt Disney World. So for your upcoming vacation, you'll need to plan around not having them. However, I do have some good news. Since Walt Disney World is still operating under restricted capacity limitations wait times for attractions are not nearly as long as they used to be. I find that most of the popular attractions are hovering around a 30-minute wait right now - which is great! Last month, when my family and I visited Walt Disney World, we didn't end up getting to Magic Kingdom Park until about two o'clock in the afternoon. We grabbed ourselves a snack and opened up the MyDisneyExperience mobile app to check the wait times. I was shocked! The app was telling me that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was only a 10-minute wait. I couldn't believe it and had to check it out for myself. Sure enough, the wait times were low like that all afternoon, it was amazing.

Typically, I am not a huge fan of waiting in long lines for attractions. To bypass this, my family and I like to arrive at the Walt Disney World Theme Park we happen to be visiting that day about 45 minutes prior to the park opening. This gives us enough time to park our car, head through security and actually walk to the first attraction of the day before the park is even technically open. Arriving early really just sets the day up for success. When we do this I am always amazed at how many must-do items we are able to check off of our list before lunchtime.

Sandy, I hope this helps you plan your day a little bit better when you are at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. If you have any other questions, please stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help! Have a great vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
