Hi there, Evan!
I am SO glad you asked this question because I think Disneyland Park is the best place in the whole world to propose! My husband surprised me by proposing there over 15 years ago and it's still one of my favorite core memories. I'm honored to help you plan the start of your "Happily Ever After!"
Happily, Winnie the Pooh often meets guests at his "thotful spot" in Critter Country. You can find Pooh's daily plans (have to leave plenty of time for snacks, you know) in the
Disneyland Mobile App by opening the map, tapping the filter at the top to select "Characters" and then scrolling over to Critter Country to tap on the character icon. If our loveable bear is greeting guests that day you'll see times listed when you can meet him. I recommend arriving a few minutes early, to make sure there's plenty of time to say hello before he goes off to visit his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.
I'm sure that Winnie the Pooh would love to see you pop the question! As long as none of your plans violate the
Disneyland Resort Rules you should be just fine. The "thotful spot" often has a
Disney PhotoPass Photographer available to take photos, so that bonus makes a proposal even better! If you can manage it, I would recommend whispering a quick word to the Cast Members helping Pooh greet his guests so that they know what's coming. Maybe you could tell Pooh that you have a present for your girlfriend and ask him if he would like to see what it is? I'm sure you'll both get lots of hugs!
A special day like the one you have planned is a great time to purchase Disney Genie+ Service because it includes digital downloads of all your photos for that day. Plus, you'll be flying through the queues in
Lightning Lanes! And don't forget to stop by
Guest Relations and pick up some complimentary celebration buttons after your proposal!
For a romantic end to your Disneyland Park day, can I recommend my favorite attraction? The
Storybook Land Canal Boats are full of twinkling lights and stories of our favorite characters heroically finding true love. It's just the best! You could also stop by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to ask a Fairy Godmother's Apprentice to sprinkle your girlfriend with pixie dust so she never forgets the happy thoughts of your proposal.
Evan, I am just so happy for you! I hope you will have the most perfect day with your wife-to-be that you'll both be able to remember happily for many years to come.
Let me know if you have any other questions, because planning these kinds of surprises is my favorite thing ever!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
