We are planning a April 2012 trip. If they would extend the free dining plan offer, which is currently quick service plan for the value resorts, can you upgrade to a regular dining plan for a fee or do you have to stay at a moderate resort only?

    Hi Stephanie!

in the past, guests could upgrade their Free Disney Dining Plan.  However, there's no guarantee that will be allowed in the future.  Disney reserves the right to change their policies at any time.  However, to give you a good idea of what might happen in the future, I suggest visiting the independent website MouseSavers.com.  That's a great website with lots of ideas on how to save money.  They also have a historical database on the site showing what discounts Disney offered and when in past years; that might give you an indication of what's possible in 2012.  Just remember that Disney releases discounts to increase theme parks attendance and the occupancy rates of its hotels; if it doesn't think discounts are necessary, Disney probably won't release any!

Good luck with your planning and write back with more questions!
