    We are planning our annual week-long August trip, but also want to visit WDW in mid-December for a long weekend. What is the most economical way to purchase tickets for both trips? Would an annual pass be the way to go?

    My very short answer would be yes, but in all reality it just depends on a few factors.  How do you tour the parks - do you need park hoppers?  How many days will you be visiting?

    For comparison purposes let's look at buying one adult ticket:

    Annual pass-$448

    10 day no expiration (so you could use it for both trips)-$405
    10 day no expiration hopper-$450

    7 day-$219
    7 day park hopper-$264

    3 day-$203   (just guessing on how long your weekend trip might be)
    3 day hopper-$248

    Our family tends to buy park hoppers.  If yours does as well, then you should buy the annual passes.  Annual Passes will also have the added bonus of getting you on special mailing lists and special promotional discounts (which vary).  You should also consider the annual pass if your two trips altogether will have you in the parks for more than 10 days.  Two separate non-hopping tickets will only save you $26, and the potential discount savings would easily offset that. 

    If your family does not use park hoppers and you will be there 10 days or less, then you can save a few bucks by buying 10 day no expiration tickets ($43 to be exact).
