Ahoy, Leanne!
Welcome aboard planDisney!
An Alaskan sailing out of Vancouver is the kind of adventure that feels like it belongs in a Disney nature film. Snowcapped mountains, sparkling water, and that cool Pacific air set the stage before you even step onboard. Let’s make sure your transportation plans are just as smooth as the Inside Passage.
The good news is that Vancouver is incredibly easy to navigate. From Vancouver International Airport, you have several simple options to reach area hotels or the cruise terminal:
Disney ground transfer, taxi, rideshare, the Canada Line SkyTrain, or in some cases a hotel shuttle. The airport is well organized, signage is clear, and transportation is reliable. You will not feel lost in the wilderness.
Disney Cruise Line currently partners with
three Vancouver hotels for the 2026 season, and each offers a slightly different experience:
• The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel is the definition of easy. It is located right inside the airport terminal, so once you land, you are already “home.” If you book this hotel, you can purchase round-trip ground transfers, currently $56 per person. Disney handles the transportation between the hotel and the port, which means you can focus on relaxing instead of coordinating logistics.
• The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel sits directly across the street from the cruise terminal. The location is fantastic if you love being steps from the action. From the airport, you can take a taxi, rideshare, or the Canada Line SkyTrain to reach the hotel. If you book the hotel and ground transfer through Disney, they will handle luggage transfer to the terminal on embarkation morning while you simply walk across the street. They also provide a transfer back to the airport after your cruise, currently $43 per person. Be sure to book directly with Disney if you want those transfer benefits included.
• The Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel is my personal favorite as it is actually connected to the cruise terminal. On embarkation morning, you can take an elevator down to the port. It does not get much easier than that. From the airport, the Canada Line SkyTrain is typically the easiest and most cost-effective way to reach the hotel, though taxi and rideshare are always available. If you would like to add ground transfers after your cruise to return to the airport, the current one-way cost is $28 per person.
One thing I always recommend is deciding what matters most to your family. If you want total simplicity after a long travel day, the airport hotel is fantastic. If you want to wake up with harbor views and watch your ship pull in, the Waterfront or Pan Pacific delivers that storybook moment. There is something pretty special about looking out your window and seeing your Disney ship waiting for you like it is ready to begin your next chapter.
I hope this helps as you map out your pre- and post-cruise plans. With just a little preparation, your Vancouver
arrival will feel effortless and set the tone for an unforgettable Alaskan adventure.
Sea ya real soon with a little extra warmth, wonder, and Disney magic,
Dustin
