Hi there, Katie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question while planning your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! My family just got back from our own
Alaskan adventure with Captain Mickey YESTERDAY and boy, oh boy do I wish I was back there as opposed to the hot Texas heat that we came home to!
My family has often booked a verandah room and having the
verandah for an Alaskan adventure would provide some incredible views! The sliding door to the verandah has a high lock that you would certainly want to keep locked unless you are out there with your little Mouseketeers. When my boys were younger, we certainly did book verandah rooms and only had the door open under extreme supervision, but that is just for everyone’s safety…not necessarily because they were not safe. One thing I would highly recommend considering is that in Alaska the sun rises EARLY and stays up LATE! Every day this past week it was bright outside at 10PM and again at 5AM which can make it harder for littles to go to sleep since their sleeping side of the room is near the window or verandah! We actually opted for an inside stateroom and while we didn’t have the incredible views during the day, we did have excellent sleepers at night! So, I would definitely take that into consideration when choosing your stateroom as well…especially on an Alaskan voyage!
Katie, once you do get your vacation booked, please come back with all your planning questions! We had the most incredible time and I would love to help you with all the plans to make your vacation as
WONDERful and memorable as possible!
