HI, I am planning ahead for a trip 8/ 2013- we want to stay for 7 days: 4 nights at POP and 3 nights at a Deluxe resort? kids will be 14 and 16- not sure how to use the planning tool for two price 2hotel res. but meal plan and ticket prices @ 7 day rates?

    Hey there Carolyn!

Split stays are awesome!  We love staying at two resorts during our vacation.  We get to experience more of the property and it allows us some room in our budget to splurge on a deluxe for a night or two.

You will need to purchase the dining plan for each segment of your stay.  It is tied to your room reservations, not your park tickets. You will essentially be making two separate reservations. The trick will be that each of your reservations will require a park ticket to be added to the room in order to qualify to purchase the Disney Dining Plan.

There are a couple of options for this.  You could either buy the corresponding tickets for each stay (ie: a four-day ticket and three-day ticket) in each reservation, or you could purchase the seven-day ticket with your first reservation and then a one-day ticket with your second.  You could then "stash away" that one-day ticket for a later date as it will not expire and have the requirements to purchase your dining plan.  You will have to crunch numbers and see which option is financially the best for you.

I hope that clears up some confusion for you!  Split stays really are wonderful, even if they require a little extra legwork.  Please let me know if you have any questions about this.  I'd love to help you make your vacation as magical as possible.
