So I've been here before but i was never the planner, nor payer. How do i go about starting an account to pay each month to plan a trip with my wife and kids? Thank you

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out to planDisney!

Mike, you've come to the right place because I'm always the planner and the payer! I find that planning really helps me get excited about the trip and by paying down my vacation package leading up to the trip, I have less to worry about when that magical vacation arrives! Let's get you started and set up for a great vacation!

Firstly, you'll want to create a My Disney Experience account. This is the account you will use to book your vacation and manage your plans. Once you have done so, be sure to also download the My Disney Experience mobile app. This is where you can keep track of everything on the go and use Disney Genie to create a suggested itinerary.

Once all of that is set up, you'll go ahead and book your vacation package. Please note that if you are booking a room-only vacation or just tickets without a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel reservation, you will not be able to make payments leading up to the vacation. However, when you purchase a vacation package (room and tickets), you'll pay a deposit at the time of booking and then can make periodic payments leading up to your vacation.

Once 2024 dates are available to book, you can start the process. To book your vacation package, find a hotel you are interested in, select "Check Availability," input the required information, and select "Find Resorts." You'll then be asked to select the room category you are looking to book. Once you've made your selection, you'll be asked how many tickets and what type of tickets you'd like to attach to your package. Please note that you will be prompted to check Theme Park Reservation availability before purchasing your package to ensure there is availability at the parks you'd like to visit on the days you'd like to visit them. Continue to make your selections and, once complete, you will be brought to a checkout screen. This is where you will make your deposit and finalize your booking.

Now that your booking is complete, you can choose to make periodic payments toward your vacation package. Please note that these will not be prompted as the system only requires that the rest of your payment be made 30 days before your arrival date. To make a payment, ensure you are logged in to your My Disney Experience account and select the My Plans option from the My Disney Experience drop-down menu. Here is where you should be able to see your reservation details, confirmation number, and remaining balance. There should also be a blue "Make a Payment" link. If you select this link, you'll be able to make a payment toward your balance. I have found sometimes that this little blue link likes to play hide and seek and isn't always there. If you don't see it, logging out and logging back in will sometimes help. If not, you can always reach out to a friendly Cast Member who would happily assist you in making your payment over the phone.

Mike, I hope you have a wonderful vacation and enjoy making all of your plans. Feel free to reach out again if you have any other questions about planning your trip!

Like a shooting star, you will go the distance,
    Matt
