We have planned a WDW trip just after Easter,April 24-29, 2011 at PO-riverside, should we avoid MK on the 25th, if so, what day better to go that week? Use extra magic hours or avoid for all parks? Plan to do princess brkfst. We have 3 kids, b9, b7, and g5

Hi, Susan! One of the most beautiful times of the year in the parks is around Easter. However, as far as the crowds are concerned, it's one of the busiest times of the year, too.  A couple of years ago, our family was at the Magic Kingdom (MK) on Easter Sunday, and we could barely move down the main thoroughfares -- much less gain access to the attractions.  Fortunately, we had the park hopper option on our Magic Your Way Tickets, and we scooted right out and spent the day at Animal Kingdom.

If you're trying to avoid the largest crowds, the best bet is always to plan on something besides the Magic Kingdom on American holidays, and for the most tested and up-to-date information on this subject, you may want to consult touringplans.com. You can subscribe to their information for crowd predictors and touring suggestions.

It has been my experience during typically busy park days to purchase the Park Hopper Option in order to spend part of the day at a park without Extra Magic Hours (EMHs) with the possibility of traveling to the park which is open late. We've accomplished more in three hours at the MK during EMHs on a holiday weekend than we have during regular park hours at a "slow" time of the year. However, you'll definitely want to plan some of your park touring around your Advanced Dining Reservations.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
