planned a trip to WDW for December. traveling with a Star Wars boy (age 9) & 2 princess girls. I have booked breakfast with the princesses at Cinderella's castle. what is something I can do with Star Wars that would be special for the boy?

    Hi Dee,

My 9-year old Son is a Star Wars fan too and always really enjoys our visits to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Your first port of call should be the fantastic Jedi Training Academy where your Son will learn to use the Force before having a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader.

would then recommend that you experience the Star Tours attraction which is now presented in brilliant digital 3-D. There are a huge number of different Star Tours adventures to experience including multiple storylines and locations so riding once is not enough for any Star Wars fan!

I'm sure that your little Padawan would also delight in building his very own lightsaber. This can be done at the gift shop as you exit the Star Tours attraction or inside the Once Upon a Toy shop at Downtown Disney. The experience takes guests through nine steps in which they choose every part of their lightsaber, including the color of the blade, sleeve rings, hilt sleeves and ignition switches. Each lightsaber features authentic Star Wars sound effects, and guests can select colored crystals and filters to cast the legendary glow of the lightsaber blade (purple, green, red or blue) It really is a lot of fun!

Last but not least, a more recent addition to Tatooine Traders (the gift shop as you exit the Star Tours attraction) is the Droid Factory where Guests can build their very own Droid action figures. My Son really enjoyed doing this when we visited Walt Disney World earlier this year. You can read more about this activity from the Disney Parks Blog post dated 10 May 2012.

May the force be with you!
