I just planned a trip for my family. I can’t get the mobile app because my phone is too old. How can I allow one family member to access my account and use it?

    Hello Deborah!

Welcome to planDisney! I am excited for you and your family regarding their upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! How kind of you to take that first step and make the needed bookings. Now it's time for the fun part- the planning!

I'm sorry that your phone is not able to handle the My Disney Experience Mobile app but if you have a trusted family member with you it will be ok. You have two options, link them to your account or let them use your account on their phone.

I think the first way of linking to them is much more secure. From a regular desktop computer or laptop, you can access your My Disney Experience Account. If you had planned your trip online just use the same username and password that you created to book your trip. If you didn't just go ahead and make an account. Then once you are in your account, look to make some connections with your family on your Family & Friends list.  Once you invite that family member to "link" with you they will show up on the list and you can click "Update" next to their name. You can then select "All My Plans" or "Only Our Shared Plans."  I would suggest either option as you will make sure on your end within your account to make sure to link a ticket to their name. Once everyone in your family is linked together on the Family & Friends list you can have them under their account make plans for you. They can make Dining Reservations, make Lightning Lane reservations, secure Virtual Queue boarding groups, and do what needs to be done to have a great vacation. They just can't access your contact and payment information.

Now, an alternative option is something my husband and I have done in the past. We just shared the same account. We had one username and password and I just logged into the app on my phone with that information. Since we trusted each other and had the same account we also had access to the payment information and contact details.  We just operated with this one account and entered names for our kids who were minors as guests and made them part of our party. We used either of our phones and it worked just fine.

We have since made our own accounts as it is sometimes strategic to have more than one when making Lightning Lane reservations or trying to grab a Virtual Queue boarding group. The idea is, one of us would try to book the first Lightning Lane of the day at 7 am while the other tries to get a Virtual Queue boarding group at the same time. This way when we enter the Parks we have at least two experiences waiting for us with minimal wait. Since we are linked on the Family & Friends list, the plans we made separately for each other show up in both of our plans.

I do hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions!

    Happy Planning!
