We have planned our 4th trip to Disney for 11/14/12-11/20/12. used to lower crowds when visiting and wanting to see Xmas decor. Have seen conflicting information re:crowd size. When do the thanksgiving crowds really arrive? When is best time for xmas dec?

    Hi Jennifer,

You were wise to plan your Walt Disney World vacation during November.  After the first week of the month, the Disney resorts and theme parks will be all decked out in their holiday finest.  There's no more beautiful time to visit!

Since Thanksgiving 2012 falls on the 22nd, the crowds will be at their highest levels between the 21st and 26th so you will be departing at a good time.  The week preceding Thanksgiving will be busier than early November, but I think your family will still enjoy moderate crowd levels in the parks.

If you want a more scientific answer to your question, check out the park crowd predictions at www.touringplans.com.  This independent site monitors historical trends for park attendance.  Several of my friends use it to help them decide when they will visit the Disney theme parks.

Have fun in November and let us know if you need any additional advice.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
