We have planned a trip to Disney in January 2018. We have 5 day hopper passes. I have a 5 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. What are some things that we absolutely must do?

    Hi Mandy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! What a perfect age to bring your children to the Walt Disney World Resort!

I am assuming you have already booked your vacation package. The first thing we do is to make dining reservations for character meals. When our girls were the age of your little ones, they adored Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's, The Crystal Palace, and 1900 Park Fare. If you cannot do Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a nice alternative. It is near Frozen Ever After and the character experience with Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus. We have scheduled a pre-park opening breakfast reservation at Akershus for our next trip. We plan to eat quickly then go jump in the stand-by line for Frozen Ever After so we do not have to use a Fast Pass+ for it.

Some of our girls' favorite rides at that age were Peter Pan's Flight, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and The Barnstormer. Our girls love anything princess related, so I identified all of the locations for Princesses at the Walt Disney World Resort. We love to see Rapunzel and Tiana at Princess Fairytale Hall. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, you have to experience Na'vi River Journey and the Festival of the Lion King show.

Mandy, if you have the kind of little ones that can do battle, try Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. They train with Jedi knights and then battle Darth Vader or the Seventh Sister Inquisitor.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
