We planned to stay at Carribean Beach in late February. However, I've noticed on the website that the Port Royale pool is undergoing refurbishment. Should I try to switch to another hotel?

While the Caribbean Beach Resort is very nice and we enjoyed our stay there, I would switch to another resort due to the rehab of the main pool.

If you have children that would enjoy the themed pool, then this would be a huge let-down. The temporary "fencing" around the rehab area really detracts from the beauty of the resort. WDW tried to make it as unsightly as possible but I still don't feel that you are going to be able to capture the true beauty of the resort. While temporary slides (not very attractive) have been placed at the quiet pools, these do not compare to the slide at the themed pool.

When the refurbishment is complete, the new pirate ship slide will be a delight for all ages.

Until then, try a different moderate resort such as Port Orleans Riverside (French Quarter's pool will also be closed at this time and guests will be using the pool at Riverside) or the Coronado Springs Resort.
