Aloha, Christina! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
I’m thrilled to answer your question because the
Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite places in the world. The
dining options and decor are some of the best at Walt Disney World, and
swimming with a view of Cinderella’s Castle is a truly magical experience.
I checked the hotel’s website and it says the Polynesian Village Resort will be undergoing construction and refurbishment until 2026, but at the time of this writing, it does not list any of the pools as part of that work. Construction plans and timelines are subject to change, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates. In my experience, that sort of info is highlighted on the resort’s main web page (just below the photo gallery). If you’ve made a reservation and construction plans change, then you should expect an email from the resort.
The Lava Pool—the Polynesian Village Resort’s biggest pool—is a favorite with my ‘Ohana because of the 142 foot-long waterslide, but I like it because of its proximity to
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. You can get all the same tropical beverages served at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto—and the same collectible mugs—but without the need for reservations. You can’t go wrong with a poolside HippopotoMai-Tai, or a Schweitzer Falls if you’re looking for a no-booze option.
Christina, I could go on and on and on and on about all the great amenities at the Polynesian Village Resort, so don’t hesitate to send me your Polynesian-related questions or anything about planning your next Walt Disney World vacation.
You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!
