We planned on going to Disney Springs our first day so we didn't purchased tickets for that day I was thinking maybe I might try to catch the "rope drop" show at MK would I be able to see anything without actually using a ticket to enter th

Good mornin', good mornin' Jessica, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

While it may be great to stay up late, the early birds among us who arrive at the Magic Kingdom Park before it opens (also known as "rope drop") get an extra-special treat: the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show. Some of the citizens of Main Street, U.S.A. come out to greet visitors from atop the Walt Disney World Railroad station. As the train pulls in, the fun really gets started with a magical visit from some familiar friends.

The best viewing of the show will be from inside the tapstiles area where Guests touch their MagicBands to enter the Theme Park, but it is possible to see and hear a good portion of it from outside those tapstiles. That means you won't have to use one of your Park admission days because it all takes place on the elevated platform of the train station. I'd go ahead and pass through the bag check, then find yourself a spot just outside the point where you'd need to scan your MagicBand. Your view may be a little obstructed, but you'll see plenty, and you'll definitely hear enough to have the song in your head for the rest of the day!

I hope this helps you kick off an unforgettable Disney day, Jessica. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
