Hi Jenna, welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for bringing your question to us! I'm more than happy to help! When the
Disneyland Resort re-opened, a
theme park reservation system was implemented, requiring Guests to have both a theme park reservation and a valid
theme park ticket to enter the parks. Theme park reservations are required for all types of tickets, including one-day tickets.
Theme park reservation availability is fluid and constantly changing, as Guests can make changes to their reservations themselves from within their Disneyland Resort account. I just took a look at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar and see availability for
Disney California Adventure Park on your arrival date for both one-park per day and park hopper tickets! By the time you read this and attempt to make a reservation, there is a good chance reservation availability may be all booked. But it just goes to show that all hope is not lost! Keep monitoring the reservation availability calendar, and there is a chance a reservation may open up!
And also, May 2022 is a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort! Many experiences have returned! The traditional character meet and greets have returned, meaning Mickey and all his Pals will be ready to give out hugs and autographs! And the
Main Street Electrical Parade and
Disneyland Forever fireworks at Disneyland Park and
World of Color at Disney California Adventure Park have all returned as well! Exciting right?

See ya real soon!
