Magic Kingdom Park has certainly hosted some memorable birthday celebrations over the years. While there have been no announcements yet about special plans on October 1 to commemorate 55 years of magic, I'd suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog in case there are any updates in the weeks ahead.
Regardless of whether or not there are any official park celebrations, you can always find your own way to say "happy birthday" to Walt Disney World! I'd suggest picking up a complimentary birthday pin and writing the date of your visit on it as a special keepsake to take home. It could also be fun to create your own ride challenge and see if you can experience every opening-day attraction still operating today, including favorites like
Jungle Cruise,
Haunted Mansion, and
Dumbo the Flying Elephant! If you decide to take on this challenge, you may want to consider purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass to save time waiting in lines as you move from attraction to attraction.
