Tiffanie from NC Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

We planned and booked a Disney vacation on Disney property for my sons 1st birthday in December. Does Disney mail us any “welcome” goodies or paperwork? Maps, informational books, etc. if not, is there a way to get that online?

    Hi Tiffanie!

We are so happy to see that you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask us a question! I am delighted to greet a fellow North Carolinian!

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, the Walt Disney World Resort has reduced mailing paper copies, however, we usually receive a vacation pamphlet after we have booked that describes our upcoming magical vacation. The booklet has included our vacation package confirmation information, suggested activities, and reminders of what to do next. Other information is accessible through My Disney Experience and the My Disney Experience Mobile App

Theme park guide maps are available online - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. We use these to map out our park strategy (especially FastPass+ selections) prior to our visit. I recommend that you make note of the Baby Care Centers in each theme park so that you can take a break with your little one. As you consider your daily plans, also determine which advanced dining reservations you will make. I recommend that you filter that list by character dining and quick-service restaurants so that you have a plan for dining at each park. And, review the participating restaurants for mobile food and beverage ordering.

Although there are maps of each resort on the Walt Disney World Resort website, I also search for printable resort maps online so that I can best determine the building and/or room location we should request when we do online check-in for our resort hotel. When making a building and/or room location request, I always try to get us as close to the main food court area as possible so that we can easily refill our resort mugs if using one of the Disney Dining Plans and so that we do not have a trek just to go to breakfast.

Tiffanie, be sure to watch the free vacation planning videos before your trip. Before our girls' first trip, we watched the videos and did some pre-trip shopping at our local Disney store. It was a great way to spread a little pixie dust before the adventure!

    Magic and memories,
