I am planingour first trip to WDW in June of 2012. Will be traveling with 4 children 13, 9,7,4. Want the most cost friendly trip possible. So I need any input that will help. Also my 9 and 7 year olds Birthdays are the week we are going.

    Hi Amanda,

Thanks for writing!  If you are considering staying on Disney property, I suggest looking at the Value Resorts.  These cost-effective resorts are wonderfully-themed properties with outstanding amenities, including huge pools, fun arcades, entertainment and great food-courts with selections sure to please everyone in your family.  All-Star Music Resort has fantastic family-suites, which can accommodate your entire family.  The suites also feature a kitchenette (with a microwave and refrigerator), that can help you save money on concessions and meals in the park.  To save money on my family's Disney vacations, I almost always bring our own snacks and drinks into the parks.  You can either bring groceries with you, or pick some up at the gift shop at your resort.

Since two of your clan are celebrating birthdays, I might save one "splurge" for a family character dinner.  Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, is my favorite in which to sing "Happy Birthday!"

    Have a magical trip!
