I am planing a trip to disney world in May with my daughter who is 5.... She loves the princesses, so this will be the main theme of the trip. I wanted advice on where to stay and what to do, since I haven't been to Disney since the 70's..:)

    Hi Kathleen --

Your are taking your little princess to the perfect spot!  She must be so excited!  There are many ways to give your little girl the royal treatment at Disney World.  Depending on your budget, you may opt for one or more of these fun ideas:

    • Make an appointment for her at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a beauty salon where your little girl will be magically transformed into a princess.
    • Plan to dine with princesses at one or more character meals -- Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom is the most popular, but there is also a very nice princess breakfast at Akershus in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot, and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner.
    • Take her to Tea - Garden View Tea Lounge at the Grand Floridian is home to My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party.  Children listen to stories, meet Princess Aurora, and take home a My Disney Girl doll and other surprises.
    • Story Time with Belle - In the Magic Kingdom, children can sit with Belle as she retells the story of Beauty and the Beast, with audience participation, of course.  Check your park guide for times.
As far as where to stay, each resort at Walt Disney World offers a fun, unique experience.  If your budget allows, you'll all feel like royalty if you stay at the Grand Floridian!  But even if you opt to stay at one of the value resorts on property, I'm sure your daughter will be delighted and your family will make memories to last a lifetime!

Have fun planning, and have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
