Planing on a trip for 4 adults. Ages are 18, 18, 25, and 43; Would the AKL be a good resort to stay at?

    Hi Ryne --

Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite resorts!  I recommend trying to get a room with a savanna view; it's amazing to wake up in the morning and see giraffes, zebra other wildlife outside your window.  If you can't swing the savanna view, no worries -- the hallways have alcoves with glass window providing great overlooks.

The lodge also has some of the best dining on all of Disney property.  I highly recommend making a reservation for Jiko, and the food at Boma ranges from traditional American fare to exotic flavors of Africa.

The only downside to this resort (and the reason my children haven't stayed there) is location.  Unless you have a car, you have to rely on the bus system to get anywhere.  This makes it more difficult to return to your hotel for that mid-morning nap.  But, for your family of adults, this shouldn't be a problem. I definitely recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
