Planing a last minute trip to WDW with my 14 month old baby, staying at one of the Value Resort; husband can't make it to this trip. Will it be crazy to be my myself and my DD during my visit? Should i bring my own stroller? Any suggestions?

    Hi Claudia,

I've travelled to Disney several times alone with two very rambunctious boys.  I won't say it wasn't tiring, but it was absolutely magical.  In fact, we had a wonderful time traversing "the World" together, and have lots of amazing pictures to prove it.  I absolutely recommend bringing along your own, lightweight stroller.  The stroller will come in  handy at the airport and around your resort, where rentals are not available.  I also recommend not being shy about asking for help when you are boarding the buses to and from your resort.  I learned quickly that people on vacation generally have a wonderful disposition, and are very happy to help a mom who needs an extra set of hands!  Getting on and off the buses with kids and a stroller alone was my biggest challenge.  Once I hit the parks, I was absolutely fine.  When I've travelled alone with my kids, I also made good use of the "companion" restrooms in the parks.  They are all private "rooms" with a door that locks and changing tables, and are a bit easier to navigate when you are on your own with kids than a traditional rest room.

I recommend bringing along some diversions so your tot is well entertained when the two of you decide to have dinner or a sit down meal.  Coloring books, a portable DVD player and/or other favorite (small) objects from home will likely keep your little one happy while you enjoy a well-deserved reprieve and a great meal.  I also suggest making advanced dining reservations for any table service meals you intend to share, so that you don't have to spend much time waiting for a table.

Have a wonderful trip with your little girl!
