Hey there Juli and welcome to planDisney!
The Disney Skyliner has quickly become my favorite mode of Disney Transportation. I remember watching it during the testing phase and dreaming of the day when I'd be able to soar through the skies towards a Disney Park. I'm happy to share what I've learned in the many flights I've taken since then.
Usually, The Disney Skyliner starts running 45 minutes to an hour prior to
Disney's Hollywood Studios and
EPCOT's opening, the two parks that it offers transport to. While an hour is definitely the recommended travel time to get to destinations around Walt Disney World, I'd recommend lining up for the Disney Skyliner at least 30 minutes before the official park opening if you have to make the transfer to get to your theme park.
In my experience, which resort you're traveling from and where you're going definitely make a difference when planning your travel timeline. If you're coming from
Disney's Art of Animation Resort or
Disney's Pop Century Resort you will have to soar to
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort which is the transfer point, exit your gondola, and get in line to catch another gondola to your desired destination. This can definitely take a little extra time if the lines are a bit long. If you're a Guest at Disney's Caribbean Beach you'll only have one line to manage since your resort is the transfer point. If staying at
Disney's Riviera Resort, you'll only have to consider the transfer to Disney's Hollywood Studios since that hotel is the last stop before EPCOT.
Juli, I hope I've been of help to you today. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back for another chat!Happy planning!
