We are planing our first Disney trip in Nov '09 DDs 2,4,6). We can get a discounted rate going the 15-22nd. With Thanksgiving being the 26th this year, should we go this week 15-22 or would the week before, Nov. 9-15 be worth the xtra money crowd-wise?

Hi Lori!  If you are able to get a good discounted rate for the week of the 15-22nd then I would certainly keep that for your vacation time.  The only two days that you might see an increase due to the Thanksgiving holiday would be the 21st and the 22nd.  By that time you will have visited the many parks and done quite a bit so you can use those days to enjoy things at your resort or repeat some of your favorite rides and attractions.  Even with the holiday coming later that week those two days will most likely not even be that bad as far as crowds go.

Soon you will also be able to purchase tickets for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party which generally begins the second week of November.  This is a great opportunity to be in the Magic Kingdom for a fun night of early celebration for the upcoming Christmas holiday.  The castle is breathtaking with its lights and the parade and fireworks are amazing!  It is a great time of year for a Disney visit!
