Hello! We are planing our first Disney trip for late Sept 2010 & plan to stay on property. We will have our 6.5 year old and almost 3 year old and will want to come back to nap/ rest mid afternoon- what mod. resort would be the best for this?

    Hi Sunny,

September is a fabulous month to visit Walt Disney World, as the summer crowds are long gone, making the parks much easier to navigate with two little ones in tow!  All of the moderate resorts are wonderful, family-friendly destinations, with great theming and fabulous pools.  In addition, each has convenient, bus transportation to and from the Disney parks that runs consistently throughout the day.  My family has stayed at all of the moderate resorts, and while we prefer some more than others (largely due to theming preferences that change as my boys get older), find that all are very convenient to return to mid-day for a nap, swim or lunch at our resort.  Currently, my boys are fans of all things pirate, so Caribbean Beach Resort tops our moderate list!

If your family is looking for a bit of extra space, you might consider exploring the cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort.  Each cabin has a full kitchen, separate master bedroom and living room, and a private deck.  The resort is located a short boat ride from the Magic Kingdom, and is in the moderate category.  I'm guessing with children who are your kids' ages, you will be spending  lot of time at the Magic Kingdom, which would make this resort a fantastic choice.  The cabins are a bit more expensive than a standard room at another moderate property, which is why I addressed them separately.

Regardless of where you stay, have a wonderful family vacation!
