    I am planing a fall vacation surprise for my 73 year old mom, we will be bringing a wheelchair for her but we do not have a handicap pass. We will be staying at a resort, but would like to experience ferry and monorail...any suggestions parking/transport?

    Hi Cathy and welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel. I am happy to tell you that you do not need to worry one bit about transporting your mother once you arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. If you choose to travel by bus to the Parks, you can feel comfortable knowing that all Disney busses are equipped with standard bus lifts (32"x48") and make transitioning from Park to Park so easy. Monorails are also accessible to wheelchairs and some monorail stops even have elevators nearby. And if your transportation of choice is a boat--no problem! Just inform the Cast Member at the dock that you need assistance boarding. They will be very happy to help!

    Take a minute to hop on over to the Services for Guest with Mobility Disabilities page on the Walt Disney World Website for more information about mobility assistance that is available once you enter the Parks. We have a special-needs son who is always in his wheelchair at Walt Disney World and we never cease to be amazed at how easy it is. Like always, Disney has thought of everything and that goes for Guests in wheelchairs as well. Don't you just love the way Disney anticipates the needs of every single Guest to help them make the very most of every magical moment they have at Walt Disney World?
