Our plane lands at MCO @11:30am. We are taking Magical Express to our cabin at Fort Wilderness . I want to make reservations at The Crystal Palace as early as travel time allows. What is the travel time from our cabin to a bus, to the dock, to WDW?

Hi Angela!  It is always a puzzle when trying to figure out travel times within Walt Disney World. But since I stay in Fort Wilderness all the time I will try to help you figure this out so you can make a safe reservation time!

First you have to hope the skies are clear and your plane lands on time. That piece of the puzzle is a big one as it will affect the rest of the day. But don't the best you can. Since you won't be collecting your luggage you will head directly to the Magical Express area of the Orlando terminal which is on level 1, side B.  You will then be scheduled for the next available bus once you are checked in. This trip to your resort, Fort Wilderness can take up to an hour depending on other stops before yours.  Then you will need to check in and get a van shuttle to your cabin. Make sure you mention you need this when you check-in so they are waiting for you with a van.  All of this can take anywhere from 2 1/2 hours or more depending on crowds.

Your cabin will be in one of many loops and depending on the location you might have a one minute walk to the bus stop or an eight minute walk.  The bus travel time to the marina will be about 5-10 minutes but buses run every 15-20 minutes so you have to consider you might be unlucky and just miss one and have to wait for the next.

The Magic Kingdom boats that leave the Fort Wilderness marina run the same as the busses.....every 15-20 minutes.  The trip itself takes about ten minutes once you are on your way but loading and unloading can take time.

Doing the addition I would not make a reservation any earlier then 4:30pm on the day of your arrival. This gives you time for the longest waits for transportation and allows you to head to the park without stress attached to a long travel day already.  If you arrive early be sure and check in and see if they can take you earlier then your reservation time. But better to be safe then sorry!
