Our plane arrives at 4:30 p.m. and we are using MDE to All Star Sports. We are hoping to have dinner at California Grill at 7:30 p.m. Have I allowed enough time for pick up, check-in & hoping the bus to MK for a short walk to CG for dinner?

    Hi Denise,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. It sounds like you have a very full first day planned! Let me help you think about the timing of your plans.

It sounds like first you will take Disney's Magical Express from Orlando International Airport to Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. I typically recommend that guests leave about 90 minutes total for Disney's Magical Express. This includes time from landing to get to your motorcoach, wait a bit if you need to, travel time, and then extra time in case your motorcoach makes stops at other resorts first.

Then from Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, you would need to leave again about 60 - 90 minutes for your travel to California Grill. This would include getting to the bus stop and waiting for a bus, the walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort, and then getting to California Grill. By the way, I love California Grill! The fresh California cuisine is wonderful.

That said, I think that assuming that your plane is on time, it is possible to make your 7:30 p.m. reservation. I do; however, think that the timing might be a bit tight. If you can move that reservation back to 8:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m., I think you would have a much better cushion, which would also allow you for some time to go to and settle into your room.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Denise. Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions!
