Hi Sam,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
Spring is one of my favorite times to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort because the temperatures are great and guests can take part in my all-time favorite,
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival!
Though I can’t be completely sure about the crowd level, I will share how I like to plan my vacations. If I can help it, I try not to book around major holidays or school breaks, but that’s what works for my family. If those times are better for you during the month of April, I still suggest coming! There are ways to navigate the Theme Parks, no matter how crowded it is.
The way you can somewhat gauge the crowd is by looking at the
Theme Park Reservation calendar. If days are yellow, that means certain Theme Parks may have hit capacity for that day of reservations. On the other hand, green means that there are still reservations available at every Theme Park. Even if the calendar is green, there could still be many guests in the Theme Parks, but Hakuna Matata, here are a few ways to navigate.
First, you’ll want to utilize
Disney Genie+ Service and Individual Lightning Lanes. This will save you time as you’re riding attractions throughout your vacation. Next, you’ll want to eat at “off times”. For example, have a later lunch around 2:00 p.m. or an early dinner around 4:00 p.m. You can use
mobile ordering through the
My Disney Experience mobile app as well. Also, utilize
Early Entry! Guests staying at
Disney Resorts Collection and other select hotels are currently able to enter the Theme Parks 30 minutes early every day. Finally, stay late if you can. If you’re staying at any of the above mentioned hotels, sometimes there are
Extended Evening Hours which allow guests access to a specific Theme Park after the official close. You’ll want to review the
calendar to see those dates.
If you’ve already purchased your Theme Park tickets and you select your
Disney Park Pass reservations, you can cancel or change the reservations! Keep in mind that the reservations are subject to availability. The closer you get to your vacation, the less flexibility there might for Disney Park Passes!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your vacation in April.
