Hello there again, Angela!
Welcome back to planDisney with an excellent question. Thank you for stopping by once again as you plan your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, we are delighted to help!
I am so happy to hear that you have made reservations at
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort! I will also be staying there this upcoming summer and I hope you enjoy it just as much as my family does. I can see that some of my fellow planDisney panelists have already provided invaluable tips and advice for your visit, including must-do activities while staying at this beloved EPCOT area resort hotel.
I must agree that
Stormalong Bay is awesome! Please, plan to spend quality time at what many consider the best pool at the Walt Disney World Resort. My 10-year-old daughter loves Stormalong Bay so much that it is hard to get her to spend time at the theme parks! As previously suggested, plan to dine at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop – do you think your family can tackle the internationally acclaimed Kitchen Sink? Reservations at this popular dining destination are highly recommended and you can start booking online up to 60 days in advance. Speaking about food, I would also like to recommend
Ale & Compass Restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious New England comfort food, and
Martha’s Vineyard for delicious appetizers (who can resist an artisan cheese plate or a classic clam chowder?), wines, specialty drinks, and beer. Your kids are welcome to join you at the lounge, and I believe they will appreciate trying the Loaded Tots and non-alcoholic mocktails like the grapefruit spritzer and the watermelon lemonade.
You already know that you must go for an evening stroll at
Disney’s BoardWalk and that you can conveniently take a boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and walk to EPCOT. Remember there is a
Disney Skyliner station right at the International Gateway to EPCOT and you can take a quick stroll there from the hotel. I recommend hopping on this new gondola system at around sunset for magical views of the Walt Disney World Resort from the sky! I also suggest booking tee time at
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf, which is perfect for families and is also located within walking distance to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Upon arrival, stop by Front Desk to confirm weekly recreation activities planned during your stay. My family has already enjoyed activities like tennis and volleyball (equipment available from
Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness), Movies Under the Stars and even finding a cozy spot at the beautiful hotel lobby to sit down and chat for a while.
I hope these tips help you plan a memorable Disney vacation, Angela. As you prepare for your visit, remember to check the
latest updates about Disney Resort hotel services, amenities, dining, transportation, and more.
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
