Hiya Stephanie,
Welcome to planDisney! I just dined at
Chef Mickey's a few days ago with my friends and their children, and it was such a fun time. The little ones loved that Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Pluto, and Goofy visited us at the dinner table and all of the big hugs they shared with their favorite pals. As a mom of a little mini-one, I appreciated the distraction for my daughter. It seemed that every time she was even remotely fussy, there was a character stopping by to draw her attention.
Although my daughter is too small to enjoy the food at Chef Mickey's, the other little ones in my party dined on the kid-friendly plate of Mickey's Macaroni & Cheese, tater tots, steamed broccoli, chicken strips, and corn dog nuggets. Unlike the adult selections, which are served family style, Mouseketeers ages 3-9 received their meal all on one plate. They are still welcome to request additional helpings if they would like, just like the adults. My friend's little ones loved the variety and even snacked on some of our food. Oh, did I forget to mention that the kid's starter is made up of little vegetable dippers with ranch dressing; we ended up passing on it because we knew they wouldn't eat it, but even the pickiest of eaters found something they love to eat.
Don't forget to save room for dessert, though; Minnie Mouse has prepared some of her favorites in the form of chocolate chip cookies (for the littles), Mickey Mouse Domes, Strawberry Cream Cake, Apple Crumble Tarts, and a Chocolate-Raspberry Tart. The Mickey Mouse Domes were a huge hit because who doesn't love a chocolate dessert shaped like Mickey Mouse? It all came on one plate when we were there, so the little ones in our party just grabbed whatever they felt like eating.
I hope you enjoy your dining experience, Stephanie! I, for one, had a fantastic time, and the pictures I captured of the little ones with the Fab 5 are a great souvenir of the evening.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
