First, I need to let you know that you’ve chosen the perfect Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter makes guests feel like they’ve been instantly transported to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Your entire stay will feel like a celebration from the moment you arrive.
The first thing you’re going to do when you arrive is stop at the front desk and pick up a Celebration button for mom. It will tell the world that it’s her birthday, and she deserves all the special attention she’ll get when she wears it. You can also consider ordering something special for her from Disney’s
Magical Floral & Gifts. You can request in-room delivery for gifts and floral arrangements to make mom feel even more special. Another thing to consider: plan for an evening at
Scat Cat’s Club - Lounge. While this jazzy lounge is currently closed for refurbishment, it will reopen in time for your visit, and it is right on site at your resort hotel. You only need to walk to it from your hotel room! If mom loves jazz music, she will have the best time at this lounge. Also, birthday beignets sounds like a celebration to me!
Another way to celebrate right at your resort - hop over to Riverside (French Quarter’s sister resort) and take a
Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride. This Enchanted Extra always feels so special - I know your mom will love it. Finally, consider one special dinner reservation. My suggestions for this would be
Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian,
California Grill at the Contemporary Resort or perhaps
Spice Road Table at EPCOT if you’re hoping to be inside a theme park. Here’s why I’m suggesting these locations: each of these restaurants (when your dinner reservation is timed right) can provide stellar fireworks views. Mention that your party is celebrating a birthday and would love a view of the fireworks from your table when you check in with the host. There’s no guarantee, but cast members will try to seat you at a great table with a view. Pre-order a
Specialty Cake to really set off the celebration, and it will be brought to your table after dinner.
Danielle, all reservations (dining and Enchanting Extras) can be made 60 days prior to your arrival, so mark your calendar. I hope I’ve given you some great ways to celebrate your mom.
