Hi planDisney panel! I have coeliac disease and I'm sailing on the Disney Magic next year (7-nights) to Alaska. Am I still able to participate in Glacier Day cookies and hot chocolate (i.e., do Disney offer GF cookies and hot chocolate?)? Thanks!

    Hello, Zoe!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney. I love that you are already thinking about allergy-friendly treats on your Disney Cruise next year!

We also have allergies in my family, and one of the many reasons that I love sailing on the Disney Cruise Line is that they go above and beyond to support Guests with dietary restrictions. Based on my experience, Guests can often get allergy-friendly options that are similar to the food available to the other Guests. My family has safely eaten on board the Disney Cruise Line many times, including indulging in a variety of tasty desserts and treats (which is the best part of eating on vacation, right??).

To help ensure the Crew Members are prepared to accommodate your food needs, make sure to complete the Special Services form at least three weeks before Embarkation Day. This can be found on the Special Dietary Requests page or under "My Reservations" on the Disney Cruise Line website. Additionally, I have successfully requested specific brands of donuts and cookies on previous sailings. Although these requests aren't guaranteed, the Crew Members try their best to find delicious, allergy-friendly options in my experience.

Keep in mind that Disney Cruise Line works hard to keep Guests safe and minimize cross‑contamination, but they can’t guarantee that any item is completely free of allergens. Every Guest has to decide what feels comfortable for them, and you might consider bringing some unopened, pre‑packaged cookies on board if that gives you extra peace of mind. With all of that said, my family has safely dined on many Disney Cruises, and we already have another voyage booked for next year!

Once you are onboard, I suggest downloading the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so you can check the time of the Onboard Dining Session on Embarkation Day. This is the perfect opportunity to talk with Crew Members about your food options for the day and ask about allergy‑friendly cookies and hot chocolate. Later at dinner, you may want to ask your serving team about pre‑ordering meals for the next day. It helps the Crew Members plan ahead, and I like that it’s one less thing I have to think about each day.

Zoe, I hope your Disney Cruise is filled with wonder and magic! Don't hesitate to contact planDisney again if you have other questions.

    Happy sailing!
    Jen
