With your trip just a few days away now, it's no wonder you're dreaming of all the yummy meals that await you. And digging into a famous Cobb salad at the
Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant at
Disney's Hollywood Studios is definitely worth dreaming about. It's true to the original created decades ago by Bob Cobb himself, piled high with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, hard boiled egg, turkey, cheese...just goodness upon goodness upon goodness!
In the past, many of the dishes served in the dining room of the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant could also be ordered by Guests seated in the lounge. Looking at the
current lounge menu, however, I see that it includes only drinks. I asked a friend who is visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios this week to check for us, and a Cast Member working there told her that what we're seeing on the menu is correct - only drinks are served in the lounge at this time. You can certainly ask when you arrive since things are still changing as Walt Disney World continues to work through its reopening process, but it looks like the best way for you to enjoy a Cobb salad is to make a dining reservation.
If you have trouble finding an advance dining reservation on the day you'll be visiting, don't give up on your Cobb salad dreams! You might be able to hop onto the
Mobile Dine Walk-up List! Here's how it works:
- Open the
My Disney Experience mobile app on your phone
- Click on the "+" sign on the bottom of your screen.
- Select "Check Dining Availability."
- Click on the current date on the calendar, and select "Now" from the times listed across the bottom.
That gives you a list of all restaurants that have wait list availability that day, along with the estimated wait time. The app may tell you to move closer to the restaurant to join the walk-up list, so I suggest standing close by when you first check for a time. There may not be times available, but let's cross our fingers for some pixie dust!
