Hi planDisney! Driving to WDW for the first time, and will have our car for park days. What time do the parking lots open each morning at the parks? Will a Times Guide be available for such information, or should we ask at the resort when we arrive?

    Hello there, Amy!

We are so happy to welcome you back to planDisney! It is a pleasure to continue to assist you as you create magical memories for your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

One of my favorite benefits while staying at a Disney Resort hotel is enjoying complimentary transportation to the theme parks, water parks and Disney Springs, as well as to and from Orlando International Airport with Disney’s Magical Express. I love not worrying about driving, but having a rental car can be an excellent option for some families.

If you are visiting soon, keep in mind that at this time parking lots are currently opening about 45 minutes prior to official theme park opening time. This should give you plenty of time to park and head to the entrance of the theme park you are visiting for rope drop. I especially recommend parking as early as possible in the morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios if you are interested in joining a boarding group via the My Disney Experience mobile app to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Parking lot opening times are not available on Times Guides, so it is a good idea to confirm at your Disney Resort hotel upon arrival as this information is subject to change without notice.

Thank you for sending another question our way! I hope this helps you while planning and that you stop by once again real soon for more tips and advice.

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
