My DH and I plan to take our 1 yr old daughter to WDW for her 4th B-day; it will also be my DH's first trip too. Extended family also plans to attend. How should we budget over the next 3 yrs. for a Deluxe Resort package plus additional celebratory items?

Hi Kristin - budgeting now for a deluxe vacation in three years is a great idea!  Although prices won't be out for 2012 until later in 2011, you can still get a general idea of what the trip will cost.

I'd suggest that you start out by pricing what your trip would cost in 2010.  Things like the exact deluxe resort (there's a big price difference between the Grand Floridian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge for example) and the type of view can vary your price, as can the time of year you visit.  Once you get a baseline price, add in inflation and price increases (while I have no idea what prices will do, maybe add 10%-15%?).

Remember to include other things in your budget, such as pet care, airport parking, souvenirs, and gratuities.  Once you have an idea of how much you'll need, start saving now!

    Have a great vacation!
