Hey there Paul,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! I'm glad to hear you will have some time to visit the Disneyland Resort in just a few months!
When purchasing
theme park tickets from the Disneyland Resort website, you can only buy one ticket type (1-day tickets or 2-day tickets or 3-day tickets, etc) per transaction. Therefore, if you're planning on purchasing a 2-day ticket for yourself, but a 1-day ticket for your wife then you'll want to purchase them separately.
Once you've purchased the tickets, you can then link the 1-day ticket to your wife's
Disneyland Resort mobile app so she can easily access it for entry during your trip. To do this, you'll select the menu button (the three horizontal lines), then "Tickets and Passes," and "Link Tickets & Passes." This next screen will walk you through the process of linking tickets and then you'll be all set.
You can assign a name for tickets during the purchase process but know that the name ultimately is just for your records. The first time you enter the parks, a Cast Member will take a quick picture of each of you that will be associated with each ticket, so no need to worry too much about the names on each ticket as this will be the process used to actually enter the parks.
Thanks again for your question, Paul! I hope you and your wife have an amazing time visiting the Happiest Place on Earth.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
