Hi there, Nancy!
Congratulations on your pregnancy, and thanks for stopping by
planDisney! When I was pregnant, I created my pregnancy and gender announcement photos at the
Disneyland Resort too, so I love your idea to share the news with your family during your visit. What a memorable birthday you’re going to have at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park have so many picture-perfect locations for you to capture the special moment. You could make a small sign or bring along a prop (like pink or blue baby booties or Mickey and Minnie Mouse!) to reveal to your family as the photographer snaps a photo with Sleeping Beauty Castle or
Pixar Pier behind you. I’m sure a
Disney PhotoPass photographer would be happy to take a couple minutes to help you get some special shots. To announce my second baby, I took a few different pictures to post on social media and share with my family. I purchased a Mickey ear hat embroidered with “Baby #2” to use as a photo prop along with the wording “we’re expecting a new set of ears,” and it also made a special souvenir that’s now displayed in my daughter’s room. When I found out I was having a girl, I bought a pink Mickey ear hat to be embroidered. You could have one in the color of your choice embroidered with your little one’s name (if you’ve picked it out) to use in photos, too. Another fun idea would be to purchase two Mickey Mouse-shaped balloons--one pink and one blue--to announce the big news!
I hope these suggestions give you some ideas for your own pixie-dusted gender reveal announcement, Nancy, and that you have a healthy, happy pregnancy. Please feel free to ask us any other questions you may have about exploring the theme parks while expecting!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
