Hi Krystle,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question! I absolutely love coming to the Walt Disney World Resort during Christmastime! There are so many different things to do from trying different treats to seeing special shows and of course, the decorations make it feel even more like a joyous occasion.
Since you’ll be coming in later December, you will have missed
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but be of good chEAR, because the Christmas décor should still be up around the Theme Parks (at least this has been the case in my experience over the years). I’ve also been able to experience some of the Christmas treats after December 25th. No promises here, but definitely have hope!
Over the coming months, you’ll want to stay connected to
Disney Parks Blog as it pertains to the Christmas entertainment. For example,
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays begins November 25th, but the festival offerings and timing will be updated for Guests later this year. So, staying connected to Disney Parks Blog and the Walt Disney World Resort website will be an important part of your planning process when it comes to what offerings will still be taking place.
Also keep in mind that you and your party can still be festive yourselves as you bring in the New Year! When I was a kid, my family came to Walt Disney World during or after Christmas because this was a time when most of the adults were off. We still wore Christmas shirts, Christmas ears, and listened to Christmas jams in the car. Just because the holiday has passed, doesn’t mean you can’t show your Christmas spirit!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your joyous trip later this year. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
