Hi! I plan to visit MK on September 24 and I just saw the show times but something is weird. The park closes 10pm (no extended evening) and it shows HEA at 9pm, and Starlight at 9pm and 11pm. Are those times right? Can i watch starlight after park closes?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Thais!

Welcome to planDisney! We are THRILLED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! It is SO exciting to know you are just weeks away from walking right into the "Most MAGICAL Place on Earth"! Soon you’ll be soaking in the sights, sounds, and smells that only Disney World can deliver, from fresh popcorn on Main Street U.S.A. to the sparkle of Cinderella Castle. Every day will be packed with unforgettable moments, jaw‑dropping attractions, and maybe even a Mickey-shaped snack (or three). So get ready because your countdown is almost over, and your Disney adventure is about to begin in the best way possible!

I just checked the Disney World website calendar, and it does make things a little strange since Magic Kingdom is currently listed as closing at 10:00 p.m., with the Disney Starlight Parade happening at 9:00 PM and 11:00 p.m., and Happily Ever After also at 9:00 p.m. I just spoke with a very helpful Cast Member, and she shared with me that park hours aren’t always set in stone this far out. This means Mickey might be playing around with the idea of keeping the park open until 11:00 p.m. or later that week. As it stands right now, you wouldn’t be able to see an 11:00 p.m. parade if the park actually closes at 10:00 p.m., because once the park officially closes, guests need to head out unless there is a special-ticketed event.

Because of this, I recommend keeping an eye on the official schedule as you get closer to your trip, as two weeks out is the sweet spot for the most accurate entertainment times. Disney entertainment schedules can shift a bit, especially when they’re testing new shows or adjusting for crowd levels. It’s also worth noting that on nights without extended evening hours or a party, Magic Kingdom could bump closing times later if they anticipate heavier attendance. So while the 11:00 PM parade could very well stick, it might also disappear from the schedule if they keep closing at 10:00 PM.

I am so excited that you will have the opportunity to experience the Disney Starlight parade! While I have not seen it personally, many of my planDisney pals have and thought it was absolutely AH-mazing! Since this is a new parade, I would recommend finding a place on the parade route early for the best viewing.

If you have other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
