We plan to visit Magic Kingdom New Years Eve 12/31/2020. Why is Magic Kingdom closing at 7pm this day but open until 10pm most other days? Will there be fireworks? Will there be dance parties?

    Greetings Deven!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting us at planDisney, we’re always happy to help answer your questions!

As you may know, given the current climate, there are a few changes happening around the Walt Disney World Resort. Enhanced cleaning measures are being taken across the resort, as well, as promoting physical distancing and reducing the contact of many experiences (including dining… yay for mobile ordering)! All of these new guiding principles are being used to help make everyone's visit, Incredible

When it comes to welcoming the New Year, there hasn’t been an announcement made just yet, as to what to expect while visiting December 31, 2020. I recommend keeping your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog for information as to what will be happening during that time. The holiday season, throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, will also be a little different this year. With all these modifications happening my best recommendation would be to wait for any updates from the Disney Parks Blog about celebrating the New Year, during your visit.

Something I enjoy when celebrating with my family at the parks, is a nice meal. I recommend scheduling a dining reservation at a location you have yet to try. This is a fun way to bring the family together and experience a new taste of Disney Magic!

Deven, I hope this helps answer your questions. In the meantime, if you find that you have any more questions, you know where to find us!
