We plan to visit Disneyland in early May and stay in either the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian. My kids (6 and 8) will want to swim and go on the water slides. Are the pools heated?

    Hi, Jennifer!

May is a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort, and you’ve named two of my favorite hotels! I love Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and have stayed there many times. It is, without a doubt, the most conveniently located. The exclusive entrance to Disney California Adventure Park means you can get from your hotel room to the park in less than five minutes! Your kids are the perfect age for one of the bunk bed rooms and will really enjoy the Redwood Pool and waterslide during the warm Southern California afternoons.

I’m also a big fan of the Disneyland Hotel. The rooms are incredibly spacious and many have a pull-out couch in addition to two queen size beds. The furnishings are chic and modern with a touch of retro Disneyland charm, and you’ll see nods to Walt Disney and the early days of the theme park in the details and decor.  The new Monorail Pool features two exciting waterslides themed after the Disneyland Park classic attraction and an extensive water play area.

No matter which hotel you pick, you will find pools that are comfortably heated and perfect for springtime fun and relaxation. Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation, Jennifer!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
